Facilities, Info, Terms & Conditions

Please note the following:

 

➢ If you have purchased the breakfast basket option we stock your cottage before you arrive with breakfast foodstuffs for the first night of your stay. If any items have not been fully stocked we will alert you to this. If, during your stay, you wish to purchase additional breakfast supplies, please ask and we will provide them.

 

➢ In respect for the privacy of guests we do not, as a rule, service cottages daily. For guests staying more than three days we schedule one linen and towel change during the stay. Should you wish to have your cottage serviced daily, please let us know and we will arrange this (a service charge of $25 per day will apply).

 

➢ Guests who use the self-catering cooking facilities are requested to clean all equipment, crockery and cutlery used. An additional charge may be applied if this is not done.

 

➢ As a courtesy to other guests and management, please report breakages or equipment faults. We expect guests to take normal care and precautions to leave the cottage in the condition in which it was found. Note that restitution charges may apply if equipment, fixtures or property are damaged, sullied or removed (see Terms & Conditions below).

 

➢ Hot water is provided by a unit fed by two LPG gas tanks located outside. We check the tanks regularly but if hot water is not delivered please ask management and they will switch tanks.

 

➢ Fire lighters are stored in the basket by the slow-combustion stove. Additional wood supplies are available from a box outside (Hitching Rail - next to the front door; Opera House - next to the bins). The door of the slow combustion heater has a child-proof lock. To open the door, first slide the vent lever all the way to the right, lifting it clear of the small step at the far right. Then turn the door handle and swing it open.

 

➢ Place wood into the slow combustion heater when fuelling it. Please do not throw wood in as this may dislodge and/or break the heat tiles or damage the glass window. Please do not overfill the heater with wood or burn other materials. Best results are achieved with a slow, even burn. Closing windows, doors and curtains helps to hold heat in.

 

➢ In the bathroom, please flush only toilet paper down the toilet. Other materials block the septic system. Please use the bags provided next to the toilet for materials such as sanitary pads and dispose of them in the rubbish bin provided.

 

➢ By law in Queensland smoking is banned in hotel rooms and this applies to our cottages. We provide an ashtray outside. Please ensure cigarette butts are fully extinguished.

 

➢ The kitchen is equipped with an exhaust fan to remove cooking odours. Its louvered vent is operated by a solenoid switch that takes a minute to fully open and shut.
